Patty Schuler joined BOX in February 2011 as Vice President, Business Development and Client Communication. Prior to joining BOX, Patty started her career on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange in 1986. She started working for H.A. Brandt and Associates, which were acquired by First Options of Chicago. She worked with the exchange staff and customers to implement the automation of tied option orders for CBOEdirect, and worked with the President of CBSX to implement strategic planning and marketing initiatives. She is on the STA Listed Options Committee and the STA Women in Finance, Women in Listed Derivatives, and Women in ETFs. She currently sits on the Options Clearing Corporation Roundtable and the Options Industry Council Roundtable. Patty also serves on the Federal Reserve Board of Chicago’s Working Group on Financial Markets.

Robert Kmec

As a Trading Solutions Regional Manager, Robert’s expertise is in trading mechanics, trading strategies, and fundamental and technical analysis. He is also skilled in providing insights about the equities and options markets, as well as highlighting the resources available to self-directed investors at Schwab. Robert is responsible for delivering an empowering approach to trading solutions—so people can take ownership of their financial life.

John Carter

John is the founder of SimplerTrading, and author of the best-selling book, Mastering The Trade. He has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business, tastytrade, and writes daily posts on the economy, markets, and high-probability trading opportunities. He regularly educates novice and advanced traders through webinars and speaking platforms at the Money Show, Traders Expo, as well as venues throughout Asia and Europe. His love of trading started in high school. His father, a Morgan Stanley stock broker, educated him on trading call options. he bought 10 call options on Intel at 75 cents, and sold them a few days later for $1.50, doubling his money. He was hooked and has been trading ever since—going on 20+ years now.

Ronnie Jansson

IAC Publishing
Ronnie Jansson is director of data science at IAC Publishing with a focus on Investopedia. His data sciences group is a shared service across other publications including about.com, dictionary.com and The Daily Beast. In his role with Investopedia, Ronnie is responsible for capitalizing on the publisher’s big data to discover insights leading to new services and business transformation. Ronnie has previous experience as a quantitative analyst on Wall Street. He started his career as a researcher in astrophysics, having obtained a PhD in physics from New York University in 2009.

Ryan Szakazs

BlackRock
Ryan leads retail client coverage for iShares Capital Markets along with BlackRock’s Delta One initiative to distribute ETFs alongside futures and swaps. He is responsible for providing clients with trading, liquidity and portfolio implementation guidance across all US domiciled iShares funds along with helping clients navigate US Market Structure. In 2008 Ryan served as a Portfolio Manager on BlackRock’s iShares Index Equity team as well as a Portfolio Manager on the Quant Investment team where he was responsible for global index, enhanced index and long/short assets. Previous experience includes U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Goldman Sachs. Ryan earned his BS degree in Finance from Rider University and MBA from Duke University.

Jamie McClelland

Jamie specializes in CMO Marketing & Sales, CDO Digital Product Management, Board and Consulting roles with venture capital, private equity and enterprise firms in Financial Services and Digital Technology. He’s a passionate B2C and B2B change agent, team builder and digital strategist leading U.S. and Canada UI/UX customer experiences, digital transformations, M&A and global expansions to accelerate P&L growth. Jamie was E*TRADE’s SVP of Advertising, Marketing & Creative Services in New York City, where he spearheaded their famous Super Bowl Baby ads, and was CMO of the E*TRADE Canada start-up that was sold to SCOTIABANK. With a global marketing & digital mandate, he focused on active traders, serious investors, options, futures, mobile and global trading. This led to being Board Director and Consultant at RECOGNIA prior to the sale to TRADING CENTRAL.

Eric Lennert

Mr. Lennert has overseen the progression of the online investing experience across a multitude of brands worldwide since he started the Markit on Demand design team in 1998. Eric has become a passionate mainstay of the industry and continues to lead his team in the creation of new digital financial experiences including web sites and mobile and desktop applications. Prior to his work at Markit On Demand, Eric was part of the Infonautics Corporation design team. At Infonautics, he was responsible for designing consumer and educational market internet research web sites and applications. Eric graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Art.

Brett Calzada

TD Ameritrade
Brett Calzada leads the Experience Design Group at TD Ameritrade. This UX and UI center of excellence is responsible for trading platforms and digital experiences across TD Ameritrade that deliver on the brand promise for millions of investors and traders. Brett has been a relentless advocate for simplicity and usability focused design. His background spans from information design for Wired and The Economist, to user interface design for financial firms including Merrill Lynch and TD Ameritrade, and digital art installations featured in the Modern Gallery of Art in Rome. Brett combines a youthful passion for craft with the strategic focus of a seasoned executive to create simple and relevant products for busy people.

Andrew Turnbull

CIBC Investor Services
Andrew is responsible for CIBC’s self-directed brokerage, CIBC Investor’s Edge, and has regulatory oversight of CIBC Investor Services Inc. Prior to leading ISI, Andrew was Chief Administrative Officer and Head, Strategy for CIBC Wealth Management where he held responsibility for the strategic growth of CIBC’s Wealth Management franchise. Previously, Andrew was with Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, based in NY and Toronto where he advised capital markets and asset management clients in the areas of strategy, M&A and risk management. Andrew graduated first class honours with an economics degree from Queen’s University. Andrew is a CFA charterholder and former director of CFA Society Toronto.

Adam Hulnick

Having joined Corporate Insight in July 2016, Adam is responsible for leading and expanding the UX research business for the NYC-based research and consulting firm. Adam’s philosophy of delivering agile, actionable and timely insights has enabled his clients to iterate on their designs-in-progress and deliver exceptional digital experiences with products that are satisfying and engaging to use. Adam has more than 20 years of experience focused on digital products in product development, user testing and leading research teams. Prior to joining Corporate Insight, he led the U.S. research team at the international UX agency WAE, where he developed programs that gathered user insights throughout the design and development process to gain understanding of products in ever-changing environments.

Amelia Young

Upside Consulting
Amelia Young founded Upside Consulting Group Inc. in 2006 to help firms in the investment industry translate strategy into action plans that produce results. Clients like BMO, CIBC and D+H have engaged Amy to lead complex initiatives that involve clarifying customer needs, evaluating internal capabilities and developing plans that have buy-in across functions and lines of business. She achieves these results by applying a diverse toolkit of analytical, design thinking, facilitation and project management skills. Amy spent the first ten years of her career on Bay Street working as an equity analyst and trader. She made the move into industry in 2000 to lead Investor Relations at a major Canadian software company and later joined the corporate strategy team at Direct Energy. Amy has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, a BA in English from U of T and has been a CFA Charterholder since 1997.

Michael Blomfield

Investment Trends
Michael commenced as CEO of Investment Trends in 2016, after a history of commitment to the Investment Trends Business, He was their first client in 2004 and served on the Advisory Board since 2014. He has a long and successful history as a financial services executive, having headed up brokerages, banking divisions and product and segment lines over the past two decades. He headed Australia’s leading retail broker, CommSec, from 2001 - 2006, taking a strong business to a position of market dominance that the business continues to hold to this day. Having lived and worked in Australia, the US, and Asia, Michael has an enormous breadth of experience geographically, across client segments, across asset classes and across financial services products.

Tom Sosnoff

Tom Sosnoff is a trailblazer in the online brokerage industry, driving innovation and financial education for investors of all levels. He offers up his expertise in the options markets as co-host of tastylive LIVE!, airing daily on the tastylive network. A former floor trader, Tom became one of Chicago's most well-known serial entrepreneurs in fintech when he built a breakthrough options-trading platform, thinkorswim, later sold to TD-Ameritrade for $750 million.

Theresa Carey

Theresa spent over 30 years reviewing software, websites, and apps that serve investors and traders. Her byline appeared in Barron’s for 23 years, where she established that publication’s annual Online Broker Reviews, ranked #1 in credibility by ConsumerSearch over a period of ten years. She was a senior editor at Investopedia from 2018-2020, and is now semi-retired, consulting to startup fintech firms and established brokers looking to pivot to new services.

Rob Carrick

The Globe and Mail
Rob has been writing about personal finance, business and economics for over 25 years. He joined The Globe and Mail in late 1996 as an investment reporter and has been a personal finance columnist since November 1998. Rob’s personal finance column appears twice a week in The Globe, and his Portfolio Strategy column for investors appears twice monthly on Saturday.

Matt Wesche

E*TRADE
Matt is responsible for the product lifecycle and customer experience for active trader products at E*TRADE. Prior to joining E*TRADE in 2016, Matt worked for OptionsHouse (acquired by E*TRADE) and Scottrade in a variety of product and strategy roles. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations.
